Corvid provides advanced and innovative Cyber Security protection services across the wider Ultra Electronics Group using sophisticated means to detect and manage technical security incidents. There is an opportunity for a Head of Sales & Marketing to join the business in an exciting new role.

Job Purpose

Corvid is currently seeking a dynamic, results driven Head of Sales & Marketing to develop and lead the commercial strategy to meet/exceed the 5 year order intake targets through: business development, opportunity pipeline management, marketing and the closure of sales.

As part of the leadership team, this position will be instrumental in setting the strategy for the business, including all aspects of Sales and Marketing. Solid business development practices and strong/ senior-level customer interaction is expected to both deliver the currently defined opportunities and to develop achievable growth in line with the overall business plan.

This new role will be directly responsible for managing and inspiring the Marketing & Sales team, with support from technical experts and programme managers. This is an exciting, pivotal role with a real opportunity for the right person to make it their own.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for meeting / exceeding the order intake against agreed forecasts
  • Participates with the senior management team in setting organisational goals, strategies, forecasting, reporting and measurement
  • Support the business Strategic Planning activity to ensure that 5 year Strategic Plan is robust, stretching and achievable
  • Leads and coaches the Sales and Marketing team with a compelling vision that is in alignment with the organisation’s short and long-term goals
  • Serves as a leader within the industry and maintains knowledge of industry trends, translating and defining the resulting business growth strategy
  • Ensure effective and compliant bid management/ order process are in place
  • Ensure effective and compliant agents on boarding and management process are adhered to
  • Develops Sales & Marketing strategy and team to ensure efficient and effective communication with current / future customers/ partners and to define products and services to meet future growth objectives
  • Lead all internal and external communication, public relations and exhibitions including the effective communication of Marketing and business strategy and campaigns
  • Manages and appraises performance of staff meeting business policies. Provides effective and continuous feedback that assures the development and direction of a dynamic Sales and Marketing department which will meet or exceed company goals
  • Actively manages budget associated with business area

Background and Understanding

  • Proven track record in Sales and Marketing achieving significant business growth in IT security and / or Service Management
  • Ability to create a culture of success and on-going business and goal achievement
  • Experience in the Cyber / IT security and a keenness and ability to learn quickly
  • Proven and successful background in business development with clear ability to lead a team to deliver strategic growth
  • In depth knowledge of current and potential future markets
  • Must be able to manage senior relationships, contact lists and identify, prioritise and assess new opportunities
  • Multi-tasking and good time management skills are essential
  • Budget management
  • Implementation and management of CRM tools and business winning techniques (Shipley, Miller Heiman etc.)

Additional requirements

  • The role holder will be required to achieve relevant clearance levels required
  • Experience in penetrating technology into new markets with new customers or promoting newly launched product lines is a requirement
  • Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record
